The emergency services is a 24 hour facility of the hospital and cater to the needs of 30-40 patients per day. The area and staff are equipped to handle any emergencies including trauma, snake bite, adult and pediatric medicine, patients with surgical conditions and other life threatening illnesses.

PHARMACY

The 24 hour pharmacy is managed by trained pharmacists who are capable in dispensing various medications. The medical store is also well stocked and the purchase of medicines is based on the hospital formulary that is updated every year. All emergency and critical drugs are available through out the year.

INTERNAL MEDICINE

The internal medicine department looks after patients with both communicable and non-communicable diseases. The department also looks after patients in the Intensive Care Unit. The unit provides comprehensive care and primarily relies on clinical and historical information for diagnosis.

ORTHOPEDICS

The Department of Orthopedics meets the need of orthopedic and trauma care in this region. The team also manages the need for care among children and adults with disabilities. Pediatric orthopedic camps are held twice a year in association with the pediatric orthopedic department of Christian Medical College, Vellore.

RADIOLOGY

The radiology servcies are digital and with the availability of PACS, the images can be veiwed in any computer of the hospital or mobile devices of the consultants. This 24 hour service enables the quick diagnosis of patients and early initiation of appropriate treatment.

The department of surgery meets the need of general surgery, urology and pediatric surgery. Laparoscopic procedures are done using high definition equipment. Sterile and aseptic techniques are strictly observed. These surgeries are done at low cost to the patient.

The dental department is well equipped to handle general dentistry and caters to the needs of the orosurgical needs of the area. Community dentistry programs including oral health camps in schools in the vicinity and far flung areas have helped in imparting knowledge of maintaing good oral hygiene.

The department manages the anesthesic use for major and minor procedures and handles general, spinal, local and regional anesthesia. The unit has equipment to handle the needs of the surgeries performed. Preanestehic work up is done regularly and the WHO surgical check list is maintained.
